DDA

The DDA – Authorized Direct Debit system is an innovation designed and implemented by FEBRABAN and the associated banks as a contribution to making the systems more productive and efficient. The early 1990s saw the first bar codes inserted in collections slips. This enabled electronic clearing, without the physical movement of documents at the clearinghouse. But customers continued to receive printed slips at home or in the office, which in turn replaced trade bills, promissory notes, bills of exchange, receipts or checks.

The DDA system arose to make day-to-day business easier for companies, customers and users. The system allows all payment commitments to be received electronically through the banks that attend to individual and business customers. The transaction values, as is the case today, will be automatically credited to the call accounts of the creditor customers.
